What we do for weddings

Ceremony

You have a live musician marking your wedding ceremony with your favourite songs. Spotify just won’t cut it in this moment- the touch and grace of live music, the human connection that it brings, is why you make this choice.

Feel the dynamics of the music, the soft to the loud, the legato, the delicate nature of a real human voice singing. Feel the presence, the warmth, of a violin. Your favourite lyrics, your favourite melodies sounding out just for you. An intimate performance by our wedding professionals to accompany you. We would be honoured.

Cocktail Hour

The ceremony is complete! I now pronounce you… ready for a cocktail. Relax a little. The ceremony musicians can stay- they were good and you’d like to hear more from them. Say a warm hello to all your guests- congratulations!- and enjoy some laid back tunes. Have some snaps taken of you looking unbelievable, and let the celebration begin!

The music during this time will relax the mood, strike a joyous tone, and set the table for a memorable evening. Watch the sun settle into the afternoon light while you bask in your newlywed’s glow.

Reception

Whether it’s a band or a DJ you need, we’ve got you covered. It’s not our first rodeo, and we love a good party! Our musicians and DJs are gracious, fun, approachable, and extremely talented. When it’s time to crank it up, we bring the heat! We all know that this party is going to be off the hook, and that the music is what people will talk about for years to come. It’s the best part!!

Your wedding soundtrack

Your wedding will have an arc, full of different energy, meaning, and mood. Our job as musicians is to follow that arc, and to design a soundtrack that feels effortless and personal. No other service provider will be involved at every stage of the wedding!

Ceremony Music

We help you choose music that suits the tone for this emotional moment. From the processional to the recessional, everything is timed and cued. Nothing rushed. Nothing overpowering. Live acoustic groups tend to shine here, and if there’s a song that matters the most to you, we’ll shape it so it works beautifully.

Cocktail Hour Music

We aim for atmosphere, not attention, during cocktail hour. This is where jazz, indie-folk, soul, and tasteful pop arrangements work really well. You’ll start to notice how good it feels before you notice the band.

Dinner Music

Think about confident hosting, as opposed to dinner theatre. Relaxed selections, adjusting in real time as speeches begin, plates arrive, and the room settles. When someone steps up to speak, the music steps aside gracefully.

Party Music

Before the wedding, we walk through:

  • Must play songs

  • Do-not-play songs

  • Artists and eras you love

  • How bold or classic you want the dance floor to feel

Some couples are all about the wall-to-wall dancing, and others want it to come in waves with some breathing room. It’s all up to you!
